Enjoy summer!
TikTok at Tomorrowland
TikTok was Tomorrowland's Official Content Partner this summer. This groundbreaking result across both weekends demonstrates the appetite of the #Festival and #ElectronicMusic loving community who enjoyed the content from across the globe, with @Tomorrowland now the biggest non-artist music account on the platform with 4.7M followers. TikTok hosted a who's who of the world's leading DJs and producers - including Netsky, Lost Frequencies, Steve Aoki, Nina Kraviz and Shaquille O'Neal at the TikTok x Tomorrowland Content Studio on site. Views of the #Tomorrowland hashtag also rose from 3B to 3.6B, as the TikTok community turned up in droves to grow the festival's global reach and appeal, with 32 LIVE streams featuring a host of the biggest names in dance music, including Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Amelie Lens, Tiësto, Hardwell, Amber Broos, Timmy Trumpet, Afrojack & Armin van Buuren who performed on the Adscendo Mainstage. Latin hitmaker and global superstar Maluma joined DJ & producer GORDO on the Mainstage to perform their unreleased collaboration. Watch their video right here.
A special Tomorrowland Foundation Collection
Last year, the Tomorrowland Foundation joined forces with Ek Tara to open the second Tomorrowland Foundation Music & Arts School in Kolkata, India, giving 1.500 underprivileged girls the chance to attend dance, music and art classes. Based on the drawings created by the kids in these classes, an exclusive Tomorrowland Foundation capsule collection has been made, embroidering the drawings on magnificent apparel & accessories, including t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, bucket hats, laptop sleeves and makeup bags. All proceeds of this unique collection will be donated to the projects of the Tomorrowland Foundation, supporting kids and youngsters across the globe. A platform to young and aspiring DJ talents
The Tomorrowland Academy, a high-quality music academy and DJ & producer school located in Antwerp and Hasselt (Belgium), organized kids & adult bootcamps at Den Oven, located 200 meters from De Schorre. Kids, teenagers and adults were mentored by professional DJs through a week of DJ workshops, immersing themselves in the magical world of DJing and learning all about beatmatching, phase matching, EQ’ing & filtering, Rekordbox, loops and hot cues. One of this year’s new stages, the Rise stage, nestled in green nature full of beautiful plants and summery vibes, gave a platform to young and aspiring DJ talents from all over the world to showcase their skills in collaboration with the Tomorrowland Academy. Love your Neighbours
Tomorrowland aims to involve the neighbors as much as possible into the festival. The festival has an ombudsperson and team, a community center close to the festival site, a dedicated neighborhood newspaper, a free phone number (24/7) and and a separate website. In between the festival weekends, Tomorrowland also organizes a party for the neighbors and a guided tour behind the scenes of the festival. On Wednesday July 26th, 15.000 neighbors were welcomed for a big party at Tomorrowland. After the festival had ended, 3.000 flowers have been brought to neighbors to thank them for their support.
